The Story of Providential

The Story of Providential

Providential is a Christian non-denominational not for profit organisation established in 2010 by Cheryle and Warren Weir in response to the increased need for temporary, emergency accommodation in Sydney.

It began with five, brand new, four bedroom town houses in Rooty Hill. Providential now provides food, clothing and shelter to thousands of people every year across Sydney. We have several accommodation styles including accommodations for single men and women, women with children, youth and a variety of family homes, which can comfortably house families of up to 9 people.

Our emergency accommodation model provides guests arriving with us immediate short term accommodation which can lead to a transitional period of accommodation, this period allows our guests to focus on securing housing within the private market with the peace of mind that they have accommodation and support to do so.

Our transitional accommodation program has been a tremendous success. Providential Homes offer a number of models for homelessness and work in conjunction and in partnership with other service providers in this sector.
